The White House and the US Capitol were temporarily closed due to a violation of Washington's airspace.
American fighters prepared for the interception as soon as the sounds of air raid sounded.
All employees were removed from the offices of the Capitol. Evacuation began around 9 a.m. local time and ended after about half an hour. White House employees at that time were ordered to stay in their workplaces.
According to the Associated Press, the alarm was announced due to a small aircraft, which was recorded in the closed airspace of the United States.
Recall that at the end of October 2019, Estonia accused Russia of violating its airspace. The Russian Tu-154 aircraft, which is subordinate to the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, allegedly entered the airspace of the country without permission for such actions. It is noted that the aircraft was over the territory of Estonia for less than a minute.
