The new Chief of Staff of the U.S. Air Force, General Charles Browne, assessed the losses and risks of a possible military conflict between the United States and Russia or China with World War II.
Extracts from the General's report “Accelerate change or lose” published on Friday night the U.S. weekly Defense News.
“To win the future war with Russia and China, the Air Force must get rid of obsolete equipment and programs that can not help to withstand future threats," the text says.
In his opinion, the burden on the budget will force taking complex structural decisions, which can not be evaded. Previous steps, Brown noted, do not meet the rapidly changing elements in the confrontation with Moscow and Beijing.
A possible war with a comparable potential country, the general believes, will not be like the conflict of the past two decades.
“The future war will not stay far from our borders. The Air Force should be ready to fight losses and risks for the country, more comparable to the Second World War,” the report says.
