This disturbing footage over the weekend captures visitors to Wuhan Maya Beach Water Park in Wuhan, China, where the coronavirus pandemic began. The outdoor amusement park reopened in June after Wuhan slowly emerged from a 76-day quarantine.
The park has capped attendance at 50% of normal bandwidth and offers half-price discounts for female visitors. But, the court on this personnel, about restrictions and observance of social distance is not even a question.
These shocking scenes are far from the lockdown that was imposed in the central city of Hubei province on January 23, when the killer virus began to spiral out of control.
Draconian measures stopped the movement of 11 million Wuhan residents.
All forms of public transport, including buses, railways, flights, and ferry services, were suspended, and stay outside residential buildings was limited.
The ban was lifted on April 8, by which time the virus had already spread across Western Europe and the United States.
Officially, 3,000 people have died in Wuhan from the airborne virus.
