After the crisis provoked by the pandemic, Europe must stop saving in order to return to the path of development. This opinion was expressed on Tuesday at the opening of the XXX Economic Forum by Deputy Prime Minister, Head of the Polish Ministry of Development Jadwiga Emilewicz.
“Now is not the year to save money,” Emilevich is sure. “Further savings, stinginess of the last 10 years can lead to problems that will be very difficult to cope with in the future,” said the Polish vice-premier.
In her opinion, the commonality of the EU countries in the first weeks of the pandemic was “called into question”, decisions were taken separately, at the level of individual countries. She called on European countries to unite and “step over national egoism”, which manifests itself when discussing budget issues.
The Economic Forum will run until September 10. In the next three days, almost 200 discussions, meetings, lectures are planned at the conference site. About 1,700 guests from Poland and a number of other countries gathered in Karpacz to take part in the conference.
