For the third day in a row, the Russian MiG-31 took to the skies over the Barents Sea to intercept the Norwegian Air Force P-3C Orion base patrol aircraft. This is reported by the National Center for Defense Management of Russia.
After the Norwegian plane turned from the border, the Russian fighter returned to the home airfield. The Russian border was not violated.
Norwegian planes were intercepted by the Russian side also on Thursday, September 3 and Friday, September 4.
On August 30, a video of the interception of an American strategic bomber by Russian fighters appeared on the network. It was published by the US Department of Defense's Visual Information Dissemination Service. Two Su-27 fighters in the skies over the Black Sea approached the American B-52H bomber to identify it and prevent the violation of the state border.
