Air conditioners in a mosque exploded in Bangladesh: 12 dead
The incident took place at the Baytus Salat Jameh mosque when there were believers doing prayer.
In eastern Bangladesh, in the city of Narayanganj, at least 12 people were killed when six air conditioners exploded in a mosque. More than 50 more people were injured, according to The Bangladesh Observer on Saturday, September 5.
According to him, the incident took place in the Baytus Salat Jameh mosque, when there were believers praying. As a result of the explosion, the windows flew out in the mosque, the fans installed on the ceiling burned out.
According to the preliminary version, the explosion was caused by the accumulation of gas after a leak from the pipeline.
Doctors said that all the victims had severe burns — at least 30% of the body. Also, people have burned airways. 26 people are in serious condition.
Earlier in the capital of Bangladesh — Dhaka — an explosion thundered at a police station. Five victims were reported, four of whom were law enforcement officers.
