US authorities approved the sale of 100 missiles to Spain $248 million

The U.S. Department of State approved the possible sale to Spain of 100 American medium-range AIM-120C-7/8 AMRAAM missiles, guidance system, and related equipment, the total amount of the deal is estimated at $248.5 million.

This was announced Monday by the Defense Cooperation and Security Administration of the U.S. Department of Defense. It is responsible for supplying military equipment and weapons abroad under intergovernmental contracts, promoting ties between the U.S. and other countries, and providing financial and technical assistance to Washington's foreign defense partners.

In addition, as reported by the Department, the State Department approved the possible sale to France of four turbojet engines and related equipment for military transport aircraft of medium and long-range C-130 Hercules for $350 million.

According to U.S. authorities, these deals are in the interests of national security and foreign policy of the United States, “helping improve the security” of NATO allies, which are “an important force in ensuring peace and stability in Europe.
