Swedish company OceanSky has opened seat reservations for upcoming cruise flights to the North Pole in a passenger airship.
The first commercial flights will take place in 2023-2024, the cost of the service is $65,000 for a double cabin. Seven crew members and sixteen guests are slated to embark on the initial cruise.
The flight will be carried out on a hybrid airship model Airlander-10, which has very low flying qualities. In particular, the maximum healthy load, introducing the people themselves and food supplies for them, is a total of 10-11 tons. Therefore, the duration of the cruise is short.
On the other hand, OceanSky cruises simply have no competition, and therefore are positioned as exclusive entertainment for the rich. There are few airships in the world capable of carrying passengers, and only a few flying to the North Pole. Hence the exalted ticket price — for access to the elite club.
