German Chancellor Angela Merkel said Russian opposition leader Alexey Navalny was the victim of an attack. It, as noted by the German leader, was carried out using a substance from the “Novichok” group.
Now, she said, Moscow must answer all questions about what happened to Navalny. Merkel also pointed out that they allegedly wanted him to “shut up”.
Earlier, the Russian Foreign Ministry announced that it expects a response from the German authorities to the request of the Russian Prosecutor General's Office about the situation around the politician. This was announced in the department after the official statement of the FRG government that a poison similar to Novichok was found in the body of a Russian.
