Heiko Maas warned the Kremlin about the deterioration of relations with the EU
Europe will continue to put pressure on Russia to clarify the case of the poisoning of opposition leader Alexey Navalny, who was urgently hospitalized in Omsk on August 20 on suspicion of poisoning.
This, as reported by Reuters, said German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas, warning that the EU will not follow the policy of US President Donald Trump, whose main slogan is “America First”.
“This understanding makes multilateralism a cornerstone of European foreign policy,” he said at a conference in Paris on August 31.
In addition, Maas noted that “dark clouds” hungover relations with Russia and called on the Kremlin to “increase its contribution to clarifying” the situation with Navalny, who is now in a coma at the Berlin clinic Charite.
Recall that German doctors have established that the oppositionist was poisoned with a substance from the family of cholinesterase inhibitors. Its structure is an organophosphate, which includes many poisons, including sarin and “Novice”.
If the poisoning version is confirmed, Alexei Navalny will not be the first critic of the Russian regime to be assassinated.
