In the fall of a military helicopter Black Hawk in the American Coronado (California), two people were killed and three were injured. The accident involved employees of the 160th Army Special Operations Aviation Regiment. This was reportedly a routine training flight.
As reported by the Los Angeles Times with reference to the United States Army (Ground Forces) Special Operations Command, the area of the helicopter crash is now cordoned off and the incident is being investigated.
The command refused to give any details of what happened, but insiders said that the incident took place 112 km west of the city of San Diego on the island of San Clemente. There are an airfield, a training ground, and a training complex for army special forces.
The publication reported that this is the second fatal accident in the past two months. In July, an assault amphibian sank 1.5 km off the coast of San Clemente. One sailor and eight infantrymen were killed. They were returning to their ship after training on the island.
