The WHO announced the impact of the pandemic on the mental health of people

Mental health and before the pandemic was “a forgotten issue in global health,” the head of WHO said.

WHO Secretary-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said the coronavirus pandemic has negatively impacted the mental health of millions of people around the planet.

“COVID-19 has affected the mental health of millions in terms of the anxiety and fear it causes, as well as disruption to mental health services,” the secretary-general said during a briefing in Geneva.

According to Gebreyesus, the lack of social interaction has an impact on the human psyche.

He clarified that “about a billion people are living with mental disorders, three million die each year from the harmful use of alcohol.”

The Secretary-General has therefore proposed that an international online forum in support of psychological services be held on 10 October to mark World Mental Health Day.

Recall that the World Health Organization (WHO) suggests that closer to winter mortality from coronavirus may increase.
