In the United States, Hurricane Laura is approaching the territory of the states of Texas and Louisiana, in connection with which about 1.5 million local residents must be evacuated. This was announced on Wednesday, August 26, by CNN.
It is noted that Laura will reach the coast of the states within a day, having increased by that time to the fourth of five possible degrees on the Saffir-Simpson scale. Thus, the wind will be so strong that it will knock down almost all the trees and cause serious damage even to durable buildings.
At the moment, the wind speed is about 55.9 m / s. The hurricane moves to the northwest at a speed of 7.1 m / s.
Earlier it was reported that due to the approach of hurricane Laura, 420 thousand Texans and 200 thousand Louisians should be evacuated.
