President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko ordered the closure of enterprises that went on strike. According to him, “the country will survive” the shutdown of these plants.
He stated this, speaking to his supporters at a rally in Grodno, BelTA informs.
“If someone does not want to work, do not. We will not force them anyway, the country will survive. But if the enterprise does not work, there will be a lock on the gate from Monday (August 24),” he said.
At the same time, Lukashenko stressed that after “people cool down,” the authorities will figure out “who to invite to this enterprise.”
Earlier, the President of Belarus stated that the current anti-government protests in the country, which have become the most massive in the country's modern history, were organized by the United States.
It should be reminded that since August 9, Belarusians have been protesting against the 26-year rule of their President Alexander Lukashenko. The authorities are trying to suppress the protests by police and military special forces, using water cannons, rubber batons, traumatic weapons, and stun grenades.
