An Israeli device for identifying patients with COVID-19 by breathing has been successfully tested in Wuhan.
It is noted that the device, which uses nanotechnology to detect compounds in the lungs of COVID-19 patients, was able to correctly diagnose all patients participating in the trial. Reported by The Times Of Israel.
The device was developed by Professor Hossam Hayk of the Technion Institute of Technology.
According to Hayk, the process is fully automated, which eliminates the need for medical contact with sick patients.
“You just breathe into a smartphone-sized device for 2-3 seconds from a distance of 2 centimeters. There are no accessories, no laboratory processing, and results in 30 seconds, ”said Heck.
Now, this device is still at the stage of final development.
The technology is being developed by Nanoose Medical, where Hake is CTO, and he expects tests to cost between $2 and $3.
Earlier, we reported that Israel has developed a mask with almost one hundred percent protection against COVID-19.
