After the abolition of quarantine in Spanish brothels, outbreaks of COVID-19 are recorded.
Spain's Minister for Equality, Irene Montero, has called on autonomous communities to close brothels and brothels to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. It is reported by the Spanish edition of 20 minutes.
The Minister sent a letter to the Regional Equality Advisers asking them to take specific measures for these locations, as has been done for bars, restaurants, and nightclubs.
“Without prejudice to our ongoing fight against sexual exploitation, I believe it is important to act specifically in areas where prostitution is practiced,” Montero said.
In her letter, the minister expressed her “deep concern” about the outbreaks of COVID-19 in brothels, which are a “particularly serious” problem, and asked the autonomy to offer the girls who work there “worthy alternatives.”
