Negotiations on the transportation of the Russian oppositionist to a foreign clinic have gotten off the ground, said its speaker Kira Yarmysh.
The condition of the Russian oppositionist Alexey Navalny has stabilized, which allows him to be transported to a German clinic. This was announced on Friday, August 21, by the deputy head physician of the Omsk emergency hospital Anatoly Kalinichenko.
“We do not object to his transfer to another hospital, which his relatives will indicate to us. It will not happen instantly, it will happen today,” Kalinichenko said.
Press secretary of Navalny Kira Yarmysh on the social network, in turn, said that negotiations on the transportation of Navalny got off the ground.
“There is a chance that Navalny will now be able to be transported. It's a pity that it took the doctors so long to make this decision. The plane is waiting in the morning, the documents were also ready at the same time,” she said.
We will remind, earlier Navalny was examined by German doctors. The council of Russian and German doctors came to a unanimous opinion that it should not be transported until the condition stabilized.
EU Foreign and Security Policy Speaker Nabila Massrali said the European Commission expects the Russian authorities to fulfill their promises regarding permission to transport Navalny abroad for treatment.
German Federal Chancellor Angela Merkel previously announced her readiness to provide assistance in the treatment of Navalny, including in German hospitals.
