The World Health Organization does not see the need for European countries to impose a repeated strict quarantine in connection with the increase in cases of COVID-19 infection.
This was announced on Thursday, August 20, by the WHO Regional Director for Europe, Hans Kluge writes DW.
According to him, over the past few months, European countries have gained a lot of experience in combating the subsequent spread of the coronavirus, and now they are much better prepared than at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Now we are in a much better condition to eliminate local foci of infection. We are able to counteract the virus and at the same time keep the economy and the educational system running. Now for February will not happen again. After all, we know how to fight the virus so as not to harm society, “he said.
As previously reported, the European branch of the World Health Organization has begun negotiations with Russia to obtain more information about the recently approved experimental vaccine against COVID-19.
