Russia will send Mexico the Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine for the third phase of clinical trials. This was announced by the head of the Mexican Foreign Ministry, Marcelo Ebrard reports El Universal.
In total, Mexico was offered at least 2,000 doses for testing, Ebrard said. They are expected to begin in September this year.
Earlier it was reported that 40 thousand people will take part in post-registration tests of the Russian vaccine. Among the goals are not only the study of the immunogenicity and safety of the vaccine but also the assessment of its epidemiological effectiveness.
The world's first coronavirus vaccine was registered in Russia under the name Sputnik V. Its production was launched on August 15.
