High-ranking U.S. National Security Council officer Alexander Windman, who was among those who listened to the July telephone conversation between U.S. President Donald Trump and his Ukrainian counterpart Vladimir Zelensky, intends to accuse the U.S. leader of the U.S. Congress hearing of undermining national security. This was reported by the newspaper Politico, at the disposal of which were written a testimony of a representative of the American administration.

Windman, according to these data, will be the first White House employee to attend hearings as part of the impeachment process of the president. On October 8, the White House notified the Democrats in Congress that it would not cooperate with them on this issue.

“I was worried about the call. I did not think it was appropriate to require a foreign government to investigate a US citizen, and I was worried about the consequences for the support of Ukraine from the US government,” the text prepared by Windman said.

According to him, the start of an investigation by Kiev against the son of former US Vice President Joseph Biden, who is now the most likely opponent of Trump from the Democratic Party in the upcoming presidential election in November 2020, will lead to contradictions between the two parties in the United States on the issue of Ukraine. “All of this would undermine US national security,” Windman says in his testimony.

“After completing the call, I expressed my concern to the SNB chief adviser,” a White House official said.
