The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus, Yury Karaev, on the air of local television, apologized to the citizens who “accidentally fell under the distribution” of the OMON and said that he was taking responsibility for the beatings.
However, the head of the security department immediately turned to accusations of the protesters and called the actions of the security officials “revenge for their comrades.”
“In three days, 11 deliberate assaults on law enforcement officers were made. In fact, this is attempted murder. Imagine what a response the comrades of these servicemen have!” — said Karaev.
Let us remind you that more and more evidence of beatings of Belarusians is published on the Internet, both at rallies and outside the places of protests.
Violence continues after the arrest, in particular, the ex-policeman, who was also detained during the actions, told about the atrocities of the OMON.
However, not all security officials support a punitive model of behavior with protesters. Many support citizens and say that they have sworn allegiance to the people, not the government.
Also, many law enforcement officers refuse to serve and throw away their uniforms.
