American rapper Kanye West, who has decided to run for the US presidential election in 2020, met with Jared Kushner, senior adviser and son-in-law of incumbent President Donald Trump. This is reported by The New York Times, citing sources.
According to the interlocutors of the publication, the meeting took place in the state of Colorado. Kushner arrived with his wife, President's daughter Ivanka Trump.
Kanye West also wrote on his Twitter page that he was ready to give NYT an interview and talk about meeting with Kushner, where they discussed the book by Claude Anderson "PowerNomics". It talks about empowering black people.
Earlier, West in an interview with Forbes magazine admitted that his participation in the US presidential election is doomed to failure.
West backed Trump after the Republican won the 2016 presidential election. He met with the president several times and often wore his trademark “Make America Great Again” cap. However, earlier in July, the rap artist announced that he was running for the presidency of the United States. He noted that he “takes off the red cap” and no longer supports Trump. Despite this, the US President expressed hope that the rapper will support him in the upcoming elections.
