Lebanese government resigns amid protests

Lebanese government resigns in full force. This is due to the protests that took place in Beirut after the explosion of saltpeter in the port. This was stated by the Lebanese Minister of Health Hamad Hassan, reports Al Arabiya.

“Lebanese Prime Minister Hassan Diab will soon announce the full resignation of our government,” he said.

Also, as reported by Reuters, Lebanese Prime Minister Hassan Diab will deliver an address to the nation tonight.

We will remind that earlier thousands of people came out to an anti-government rally in Beirut demanding the resignation of the government and reforms. The rally escalated into riots. The demonstrators seized the buildings of four ministries and a bank association.

More than 700 people were injured in the clashes.

We also remind that the explosion in the port of Beirut took place on the evening of August 4. The priority version of the incident is called welding work, which was carried out at one of the port's warehouses, where the confiscated batch of ammonium nitrate was stored. More than 130 people became victims of the explosion, about 5 thousand were injured, dozens of them are missing.
