A number of countries have offered assistance to Lebanon

The emergency situation in the port of Beirut was a disaster for the country, said Lebanese Prime Minister Hassan Diab.

EU countries, in particular Israel, the United States, the United Kingdom, Qatar, Turkey, and others have expressed their readiness to help Lebanon in connection with the explosion in the port of Beirut. This was reported by Al Jazeera on Tuesday, August 4.

Thus, the United States offered its assistance to the Iranian authorities.

“We are closely monitoring reports of an explosion in Beirut. We are ready to provide any possible assistance,“ the press service of the state Department said.

Further, the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, issued an order on Tuesday to send a batch of field hospitals to Lebanon.

French President Emmanuel Macron also announced the provision of assistance in a social network.

“I Express fraternal solidarity to the Lebanese after the bombing in Beirut, which killed many people. Our assistance is already on the way to Lebanon,“ he said.

Humanitarian and medical assistance, including medical equipment, was offered to Lebanon by Israel, which had previously stated that it was not involved in the explosion.

“On the instructions of foreign Minister Gabi Ashkenazi and Defense Minister Beni Gantz, Israel offered humanitarian medical assistance to the government of Lebanon through international and security channels,” the Foreign Ministry's press service said.

In turn, the EU leaders expressed their condolences to the families of the victims of the bombing in Beirut and expressed their readiness to help the country.

“The EU expresses its full solidarity and support to the families of the victims, the people, and the Lebanese authorities in connection with the brutal bombings in Beirut,” said EU head of diplomacy Josep Borrel.

Note that the Lebanese authorities called the explosion in the port of Beirut a disaster for the country.

“A great catastrophe has overtaken Lebanon. What happened will not go unpunished, the guilty and responsible people will be punished, “ Prime Minister Hasan Diab said.
