Germany steps up fight against Holocaust Denial

A group of experts has been set up in Germany to develop a strategy to combat antisemitism and Holocaust Denial.

As an example of Holocaust denial, the group's experts spoke of rallies and demonstrations that took place during the coronavirus epidemic. This is reported by DW.

Demonstrators called for the lifting of strict quarantine restrictions and used the Nazi stripe, the yellow star of David, and a striped uniform resembling the clothing of concentration camp prisoners.

“If you think that everyone who compares the pandemic to the Holocaust just doesn't want to absolutize the latter, then you become part of the censorship. This negates any debate about the nature of this crime,” said cultural critic Aleida Assman.

On June 1, the authorities in Munich banned the wearing of the yellow star of David at demonstrations against state measures to combat coronavirus.

Earlier, we reported that a large-scale protest against quarantine restrictions is taking place in Berlin.
