An ex-Minister and a member of the British Parliament from the conservative party was detained on charges of raping an ex-female employee of the Parliament.
The suspect, a 51-year-old man, was released on bail. The police did not disclose his identity. This is reported by the Sunday Times.
An ex-female employee of the Parliament, who had been in a relationship with a former official for some time, filed a lawsuit against the ex-Minister.
Conservative party spokesman Robert Generic told reporters that such allegations are very serious and should be investigated. The police said that the suspect is likely to be suspended from work.
