In the United States, an ATV-7 landing ship sank off the coast of California during an exercise, and seven Marines Corps and one U.S. Navy sailor were reported missing.

According to the source, the incident occurred during a training exercise near the island of San Clemente.
Seven Marines were rescued and one has died. Two people from the rescued crew were hospitalized in critical condition. The search for the seven missing is still ongoing.
In addition, all water operations of American landing ships are suspended until the cause of the shipwreck is determined. Also, all landing craft of the fleet will be checked.
