In Eastern France on the night of Saturday, August 1, a car drove into a crowd of people, injuring 13 people. This is reported in the Prefecture of the Saone-et-Loire Departement.
It is noted that the incident occurred around midnight in the small commune of Wenzel. A car ran over people standing outside one of the bars. As it turned out, the driver was drunk and was detained. Firefighters, rescuers, and gendarmes worked at the scene.
"Doctors examined 16 people, 12 of them were slightly injured, three were in a state of shock, one girl received a serious leg injury, but her life is not in danger. All these people were taken to a hospital center," the Prefecture said in a statement.
Local publication Journal de Saone et Loire clarifies that a party was held at My Beers bar in the evening. One of the visitors left the building, then got into a car and backed up, crashing into people. After that, he tried to escape. Another publication, Creusot Infos, adds that 200-300 people were at the bar when the car drove into the crowd.
