The technical accident occurred on Monday on the Bulgarian-Greek gas pipeline near the settlement of Kulata, in proximity to the border with Greece. According to the Bulgarian Ministry of energy, the incident occurred around eight o'clock in the morning, damaged about 200 meters of the gas pipeline, according to local TV channel bTV.
вЂњThe section of the gas pipeline is isolated, and work to eliminate the accident continues. There were no injuries. The causes of the accident will be determined by expertsвЂќ вЂњ the Ministry of Energy said in a statement.
Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov, answering questions from journalists at a briefing, suggested that the most likely cause of the accident is the deterioration of the gas pipeline. He said that in the next few hours the accident will be eliminated, and the gas supply to Greece will be resumed.
