On Monday night in Greece, unknown people attacked a journalist and publisher of the Greek newspaper Makeleio Stefanos Chios. This was reported on July 27 by the state TV channel ERT.
It is alleged that two masked men were waiting for the journalist near his home in the Athens district of Vrilissia, and as soon as Chios appeared, one of the criminals approached his car and shot him twice through the window. The bullets hit the journalist in the throat and chest. After that, the criminals disappeared.
The victim was admitted to the Athens CAT hospital. Doctors assess his condition as “ serious but controlled.” One of the bullets went through the heart.
Law enforcement agencies in the Attica Metropolitan area have launched an investigation into the attempt. We are checking external surveillance cameras in the area, including near the house of Stefanos Chios.
Earlier in the Greek city of Loutraki, an explosion in a cave killed four men aged 34 to 50 years. Presumably, they were looking for treasure.
