A migrant confessed to setting fire to Cathedral in Nantes

A 39-year-old Rwandan migrant who had previously been detained in the case of the fire at Saints Peter and Paul Cathedral in Nantes confessed to the arson. This was reported by the French television channel BFM TV.

A man who served as an altar boy on a voluntary basis admitted that on July 18 he set fire to an electric board, and then to small and large organs.

This came as a great surprise to the clergy of the diocese, who described the alleged arsonist as “a kind, smiling and shy man”.

The motives for his actions were not reported. Now the abuser faces 10 years in prison.
