Google returns to “sweet” names for Android

With the launch of Android 10, Google abandoned the traditional policy of choosing the names of operating systems among various sweets. One of the main reasons is that the past names of confectionery and sweets were clear in various regions of the world. However, it looks like the company will return to” sweet “ names.

Android 10 was also given the name of one of the pies.

Inside the company, Google continues to stick to sweet names. This was announced by the Vice President of the Android division, David Burke, who confirmed that the new version of Android actually has an internal codename.

Speaking on the All About Android podcast, David Burke confirmed that within the development team, the Android 11 operating system is called Red Velvet Cake.

However, he clarified that this name will not be used officially. He also added that Android 10 passed under the internal code name Quince Tart. This is also the name of one of the pies.
