Twitter called the Star of David «a symbol of enmity»

Twitter started blocking accounts that posted images of the star of David. This was highlighted by the human rights organization Campaign against antisemitism. However, it was a mistake.

Twitter offered to “delete the image with the symbol of hostility” to unblock the account.

The management of the social network explained that they did not think so at all.

The company explained everything as an error. The network confused it with images of “yellow stripes”. It was the latter that the Nazis used to identify Jews during the Holocaust.

This was stated in Twitter's public policy division on its official account.

The star of David is considered to be a symbol of Judaism, after which it was approved as the design of the official flag of Israel after its formation in 1948.
