US Navy serviceman arrested for spying for Russia




In the United States, on charges of spying for Russia, a serviceman of the Navy, Charles Briggs, was arrested, the portal said Military.com with a link to court documents.





It is reported that a military Tribunal is due to take place next week, where the case on the transfer of secret information obtained from government bases to the Russian Federation will be considered.

According to reports, while answering questions related to information and technology at the Portsmouth Naval medical center, Briggs used a service computer to retrieve data that he passed on to an unnamed Russian.

In addition to disclosing defense information, he is also charged with obstruction of justice, possession of child pornography, violation of General military regulations, and perjury.

The Pentagon has not yet officially commented on Briggs's arrest.
