Twitter may receive a large fine for hacking the accounts of famous people, which could violate the agreement with the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC). This is reported by Bloomberg.
So, the FTC will soon investigate violations of the agreement concluded in 2010.
This agreement requires Twitter, through an independent auditor, to evaluate its user security measures twice a year and specify the name of the employee responsible for information security.
The agreement between Twitter and the FTC was signed for a period of 20 years, which will allow the Commission to conduct a thorough investigation of compliance with the agreement.
