Rapper Kanye West hired a team to help him get on the list of candidates to participate in the US presidential election in 2020 but then refused their help, writes New York Magazine.
American rap artist Kanye West, who announced plans to run for President of the United States, refused to participate in the election campaign in 2020. This was reported by New York Magazine on July 14, with reference to a representative of West's team.
The publication spoke with Steve Kramer, who specializes in helping in the election campaign. He said that he was hired to help West get on the ballot in the States of Florida and South Carolina. But then the process was stopped, which, according to Kramer, caused frustration among employees who were engaged in this, and this was allegedly caused not by the fact that they would be out of work, but by the support of rapper as a future candidate.
The publication notes that to participate in the election campaign in Florida, West had to collect almost 133 thousand signatures of residents of the state in less than a week. In Nevada, West has already missed the deadline to become a candidate.
The author of New York Magazine believes that the West will try to win the US presidential election in the following years.
On November 10, 2019, West announced his intention to run for President of the United States in 2024 during the annual Fast Company Innovation Festival in New York.
