The mayor of New York helped make the inscription Black Lives Matter at the Trump Tower

The mayor of New York, Bill de Blasio on Thursday, July 9, took part in drawing on the asphalt at the Trump Tower skyscraper the inscription Black Lives Matter.

The mayor posted on Twitter a photo in which he, along with activists, paints letters in bright yellow paint on the Fifth Avenue section between 56th and 57th streets.

“The population of our city does not just draw letters on Fifth Avenue. We are committed to the meaning of this message, ” wrote de Blasio.

Earlier, US President Donald Trump called this initiative an attempt to depreciate Manhattan, known for its expensive shops and real estate.

On May 5, Washington Mayor Muriel Bowser announced that the name of the section of the street in front of the White House was changed in honor of the movement against police brutality motivated by racism — “Black Lives Matter”.
