US President Donald Trump ordered the arrest of everyone who commits acts of vandalism in the country, in particular, destroys monuments. He announced this on his Twitter page.
вЂњI authorized the federal government to arrest anyone who commits acts of vandalism or destroys any US monuments, statues, or other federal property,вЂќ the head of the White House wrote.
He noted that, in accordance with the Law on the Preservation of Monuments to Veterans and Other Related Legal Acts, detainees can be imprisoned for up to 10 years.
Trump also emphasized that the order comes into force from the moment of publication, however, those who have been engaged in similar activities before are also subject to it.
Recall that in Washington, the police dispersed the crowd, which tried to demolish the monument to the seventh US President Andrew Jackson.
It was also reported that in New York they decided to dismantle the equestrian monument to former US President Theodore Roosevelt.
