US and Russia agree on nuclear talks

Negotiations are planned to be held in June. They were also invited to China, but Beijing refused to participate.

The US and Russia tentatively agreed to negotiate a new nuclear agreement. This was announced by the Special Representative of the US President for Arms Control Marshall Billingsley on Twitter.

“Today, we agreed with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Ryabkov the time and place of the talks on nuclear weapons in June,” the official wrote.

According to him, China was invited to participate in the negotiations.

In Beijing, they said they did not plan to participate in the negotiations.

“We have repeatedly stated our position. China does not intend to take part in the so-called trilateral disarmament talks with Russia and the United States," said Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying.

Recall, on June 2, Russian President Vladimir Putin approved the Fundamentals of Russian nuclear deterrence policy. The document contains the conditions under which nuclear weapons can be used.
