In Germany, there were massive detentions due to comments on social networks

Police detained dozens of people due to comments on the assassination of government president Kassel Walter Lubke.

German investigators on Thursday, June 4, conducted searches and interrogations of dozens of people suspected of posting hatred messages on social networks, Frankfurter Allgemeine reports.

Police in Hesse and in eleven other federal states searched homes for people who posted hateful comments on the Internet about the assassination of government president Kassel Walter Lubke.

A total of 40 suspects have been declared suspected of being “made criminal statements against Walter Lubke, mainly on various social networks,” said the attorney general.

Only the Hessian authorities are investigating five men and a woman aged 25 to 62 years from the Verra-Meisner region,

The detainees are suspected of calling for the commission of crimes and defamation of the deceased.

Recall that in Germany for several years there has been a law providing for fines for fakes and aggression in social networks.
