The US Department of Transportation has confirmed that a ban will be imposed on Chinese airlines.

The ban should affect Air China, China Eastern Airlines, China Southern Airlines, and Hainan Airlines. In addition, the United States intends to limit charter flights.

The agency notes that the administration of the US president intends to take this step to put pressure on Beijing and force it to allow US airlines to fly to China.
